Problems since stage 2

I have the stage 2 bluefin map on my car now for a week and am not happy with it.

For a start it doesn't seem to boost the same all the time

I got in touch with superchips and told them that I think the boost is unpredictable and asked if I had the modified stage 2 map. They replied telling me there are no revised maps for a mk5 golf only a mk6, I replied to them telling them that a lot of people on this forum have had similar problems and they recieved a new file and that sorted the problems, they stopped replying to me after that. (3 days ago)

This afternoon when driving the car suddenly cut power at 5500rpm and I got power back after a few mins
Then it cut again at 3500rpm and wouldn't let me go past 3000rpm for a few minutes

I scanned for faults and got p0087 and after searching on here it's the lower limit fuel pressure not reached.

Would it be the problems with the map causing this? Or will I need to replace the sensor?

When did you last check your cam follower for wear?
As it appears that you have a vcds cable then why not try live logging of block 106 for actual and requested fuel rail pressure. May tell if you are having a fuel cut causing you to go into limp mode.

The above is cheaper in the first instance to changeing the low pressure fuel sensor that may not be faulty.

I haven't checked the cam follower but the car is on 41k and it's still the standard pump

I don't have VCDS I got the code from the bluefin handset

I'm just seems that since I put the stage 2 on the car just won't run right

I'm going to remove the bluefin map and see if the problems are still there when on standard

I will check it this afternoon

I have loaded the standard map onto the car and haven't had any of the cutting issues at all and the fault code hasn't came up

In a sense that's good but it may still be prudent to check/change the cam follower given the car's mileage.

Sounds like the map could be requesting more fuel than the oe pump can handle.

I had a similar problem on an earlier (non SC) map. JKM did some logs using VCDS and the pump was unable to provide the requested fuel level, leading to cuts at random times when driving.

I am inclined to believe it could be the map and the lack of support from superchips is pissing me off
there are a few cases on this forum of problems when going stage 2 with superchips with the same error codes.

The cam follower will be getting checked today

I have replaced the divertor valve to the piston type, replaced the fuel filter and the spark plugs not long after I got the car in may as I suspect superchips will try and blame these first.

I'm tempted to get the car on a rolling road with the stage 2 map on but then that's money being wasted if it is the map to blame that I could of paid towards a revo map

I might as well buy a new cam follower while I have the fuel pump out anyway

I will stick to the standard map and if there are any signs of wear will try the stage 2 map again

It's relevent as if it's pre 2007 it will have a banjo bolt connection to the hpfp that's a bit fiddley to remove even with the correct tool.

It's an early 2006

I haven't looked yet but I'm hoping it has 1 metal and one plastic pipe as I have read that the 2 metal pipes are a nightmare

 I def have that banjo connection
Will have a search and see the easiest way to remove it

I had a similar problem where my gti wouldnt rev beyond 4000 rpm.  at first I thought it was fuel cut or a fuel issue.  It didnt show any error codes so I did a bit of research on the internet and found several people had similar issues and replaced their engine speed sensor (g28). 

I had mine replace last week and now the car is running fine better than it has done so for a long time.
