^ Useful to know, cheers. Yeah I'm on ASN although it's got nothing on this place.

Stance is getting there - intention is to drop the rear a tad more once I've got some wider BBS on.

I'm also realising that owning a black car means cleaning it every 5 days without fail to remain clean through winter  :sad1:

Hi Pete you mind telling me where you got your rear LED number plate bulbs? Getting tired of the warning beep from the dis every time I turn the lights on  :fighting:
Thanks

Of course fella - did you find out the expensive and frustrating way like me?!    :drinking:

There's a few ways around it. You can use OEM LED Audi A5 bulb units like I did, but to avoid the error you need some additional Kufatec wiring which I CBA with tbh. Unnecessary in my eyes. They look great but are very bright (like mine). There's a thread or two on ASN if you want more info.

These are what I've got, £26 all in. Bear in mind though that ones just blown for me and the seller has agreed to replace the faulty unit (after about three weeks of successful use). You also have to bend the pins on the units that make contact with the light circuit receivers in the plate light moulds on the car ever so slightly, so they're not quite OEM replicas. On the other hand, they look great (perhaps too bright) but very white, with no DIS error.

You could also get some white standard fit non LED bulbs (which at this very minute I've got in, as a back up to the LED ones) but they're nowhere near as bright and give off quite a blue light. Lot cheaper though and easy to fit in your OEM bulb housings.

Those ones are these:

I think I've probably spent about £300 on different bulbs between the MK5 and A3 over the years - fun and games
What model/year is your A3 out of interest?

HTH  :happy2:

Pete, the more I see your A3 the more I love it.

Even when filthy it looks awesome!

Thanks chief  :happy2:
Happy new year to you Carlo, hope you have a quality one!

-

Been looking at Recaro options including TTRS and RS3 seats, although they don't come up every day and will be well in excess of £2k.
Therefore, I've been eyeing up something like this:

Nothing wrong with the current seats either, do like them. Be nice to have something with the bucket feel again, bit more like the GTI had

CS's are nice but you'll pay around the same money for some oem buckets. I know which I'd rather have :D

I found a half leather set for around £750, which would be the preference as half leather is what I've got now and I'm not a big fan of 100% leather seats.

Do these fit straight into the A3, or are modifications needed do you happen to know Daleek?

Had some fun with weather induced oversteer with the SV2 winter tyres on the front. They really are excellent and allow you to correct most stuff anyone could get wrong around town in these conditions. Possibly the best £200 I've spent in one go.

Been discussing stage 1 maps with various people and looking at some wheels too. Turinis are more or less up for sale  :popcornsoda:

Few pics from weekend, opportunist snaps;

^ Stance needs bit of work still.

Found out last night you get free launch control in the later VAG diesels with the 6MT gearbox, where the car restricts the revs to no more than 2500k when sat at 0 MPH, which is great for quick starts. So you can sit, clutch down, 1st gear, foot flat and release the clutch when you're ready

It's literally nearly identical to the DSG LC function, so I did a few nippy starts before the temperature was below 0 celcius and it actually worked quite nicely as the winter tyres searched for grip.

Pretty impressed with that
5 months later, another cool feature. Hopefully there shall be more...

I found this out when my car was at Shark being mapped last year. I haven't actually tried it as a launch control though. Might have to give it a go. I take it it works only when you have your foot on the clutch?
