I wonder if this Pro Alloy IC would work on our cars seeing a S3 IC does fit...
http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=74187

I will be having one of these on mine when i get the money, Pro alloy have got to have one of the best reputation for intercoolers that actually do the job properly... rather than half way.

So is this worth it on my car with no other mods than an 'old' dsg stage 1 bluefin remap - or is my car not in a high enough state of tune to warrant it ?

The GTi with the oem IC heat soaks fairly quickly so having a better IC should reap your rewards in terms of better overall performance especially in the summer together wil slightly better mpg if your driving habits remain the same.

That being said, the cheaper oem S3 IC may work almost as well with your present mods.

^^^ Yes the ED30 and GTI both have the same IC, so you would get a benefit from an uprated IC  :happy2:

Out of interest my stock Intercooler on my Ed 30 worked fine last weekend at Castle Combe....21-22 c never had any issues at all with heat soak on APR Stage 1 mapping. They seem to work well on track thus far.
I previuosly ran a Forge item on the APR Stage 3+ set up as my smaller Neuspeed item couldn't cope with trackdays and heat soak....the Forge item worked well though.
Pearl Black Edition 30 3 Door. DSG. (3rd Edition 30)
Maybe on the too do list: APR Stage 2+, KW Clubsports, Brakes, Diff.

21/22 is out side air temp i guess .

charge temps and pressure drops are what matter on i/c's and not much else .

How does the THS compare to the APR.  The APR is very big, towards the end of the summer Im removing my aircon rad and copresser to lose a bit of weight and get some more air onto the cooler....
