« on: June 07, 2009, 12:27:17 pm »
I have fitted the rear, what is the best way to fit the front?
It doesnt seem to curve around properly!!!
Do i need to to take the big number plate holder off?

Never seem to look good on the front, but yes you would need to take the plate plynth off to mount your plate holder,  Personally I put the rear one on and that was enough said.  :happy2:

You need to take your front mask off which is easy, 4 screws, then the plinth is held on with little pins just tap them through with a hammer and a thin screw driver, it will become clear once the mask is off.

Im not too keen on them on the MK5,
My old MK3 had one, and it seemed to drop the plate quite often, lost one, and realised it had fallen off about 3 times.
Getting some pressed plates for the 5 instead.

There is literally  hundreds of sellers on eBay supplying any surround you can think of.  :happy2:

I just fitted the rear surround for my legal pressed plates and bent the front plate slightly to fit. Used 3 number plate pads on it.
