Fitting a Parrot
« on: September 03, 2012, 02:28:53 pm »
... Bluetooth kit of course.

Can anyone point me towards a guide on how to install a parrot kit? (Apologies as I can’t seem to find it if it’s been posted)

Dead easy to do but you will also need an Autoleads SOT-076 lead. No wire cutting required just a permanent power supply from either the fuse box or 12v lighter in the ash tray and away you go.
2016 Mk7 Golf GTD - Reflex Silver with stuff.

VCDS Hex+Can - Will code for beer!

Thanks, thats useful - I didn't know I needed an additional lead.

I fitted one myself on my 3 series so know it's not rocket science but a how-to-guide often provides those very useful tips about where screws are located (so you don't yank things thinking it's just stuff) and where to locate bits...

When i installed one into a previous golf i simply ran the live feed from the stereo unit to the fuse box and used a spade connector. You could use an "Add a Circuit" instead of a spade connector.

With running the cable, zip tying it to various places and having a bit of clean behind the dash it took me no more than three hours but you should be able to do it in 1 hour tops.
