I havent been to the NYMR since they put the roof back on Pickering station , looks good! I used to go every year for the Diesel Gala but they seem to have let that slide recently....

Don't normally do trains (more of a tank kind of guy) but we try and go on the R.A.T at least once a year if only for the Chicken curry!

A few years back we took the old girl on the Orient Express which had a steam engine up front for her 60th. It was something that my mother and father always wanted to do, but sadly he died before they ever got around to it.

Not cheap but it was a great way to spend a special day.

My mate got to see that A1 60163 'Tornado' up close, the one that featured on Top Gear a few years ago. Really jealous!

Love steam trains, the smell is just one of those things.... :notworthy:

Here in Sussex we have the Bluebell Railway, have been a few times with the kids (years ago) and recently just with the misses. The go the whole nine yards in recreating the nostalgia of the past with all the station guards wearing period costumes and all the advertising billboards being from the era.
