Hi does anyone know ,When I have bought new cars before the Manufacturer offers like 7 day free insurance to get you out and on the road it is a service to make things easier for them to tax the car etc.

TIA

Skoda do it. It's called drive away insurance and yes helps them sort out tax on the car.

Just had it with mine, helps the dealer! did'nt do much for me because I just told my current insurance company I was changing cars and when to stop the cover on the old one and when to start the cover on the new one!

But if its free! take it....

VW Insurance (VWI) did 7 days for me when I bought my R 5/6 weeks ago.  My dealer gave me their telephone number and another number I had to give them during the 'phone call, then I got an email from VWI outlining the cover and they also emailed the dealer so they could tax it. :happy2:

Bought my Gti from Inchcape VW and got the same type of cover... I did ask them for a quote but they were a tad off the mark !!!!!

I just arranged the free 7 day cover for collecting my car on thurs. Their number is  0800 316 7892. You will need the dealers dealer number. Their excess is quite high for the temp cover though and they weren't very competitive for a years insurance.
