Boot and rear bumper respray
« on: September 25, 2012, 08:42:01 pm »
Hoping to find out what it is likely to cost to get my boot and rear bumper resprayed? Has anyone had this done?
I think a pack of wolves has been jumping in and out the boot previously.

Been quoted 500 quid and wondered if that is competitive?

I'm based in SW London so any suggestions/recommendations would be much appreciated.

Hhmmm, had the front end of my S4 painted cus the stone-chips were doing my head-in ...

Paid £350, so a rear  tail-gate and bumper which is a smaller area, I wouldn't expect to pay anymore than that !

I've been up to Cannock today and quoted around £200 for the same area + front splitter.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I used Grove Autos down in Beckenham for a repair to my Edition 30 rear bumper and they also painted the lower centre panel black for £200 all in.

I live in Tooting Bec.

Thought it was a good quality job.  I imagine a boot/tailgate would have a bit more prep time -  window out, dismantling etc. but shouldn't be more than£375- £400.

Speak to Alan.

I am not affiliated to this company in any way - just thought they did a good job.

I used a company who are based in South Wimbledon - Merton Crash Repairs

They are nice guys and the paintwork is good!

They did give me an expensive quote then matched a quote from somewhere else, plus i paid cash!

I'll have a look at them.  Thank you.  In truth I will not bother with paintwork as winter has started.

I will get the quotes over the winter and see what happens.  For now I need to start collecting my bits, R32 back box, R32 lower bumper etc.
