MK5 ECU info required
« on: September 28, 2012, 06:01:36 am »
Ok, what I am interested in know is the following.

I want to swap my ECU from my MK5 into another MK5.

Back in the MK4, you simply swapped ECU's then just READ the ECU from the Cluster login with VCDS to activate the ECU.

Now I'm wondering if this is possible to do in the MK5 cars? or is the IMMO encryption stuck in the ECU and the Cluster now?
For some reason I'm thinking it's only cluster. Well on early mk5's so basically Immo4 or Immo4c.

MODS : Sorry was not sure if Performance Area, technical Area or VCDS area applies for this question.

Are the hardware and software numbers the same? (HW number starts with 028)

If so I can make a backup copy and clone it to the other ECU.

Not sure if the Hardware and software coding is the same just yet. As they are the same engine and same year I can only assume so.

It will be great if you could do this, however I'm over in New Zealand. None the less if you can please PM me your details then we can discuss this further.
Thanks

It's possible to adapt it by OBD, you just need both pin codes. (new and old)
