There's a massive grommet just next to where it needs to be, you'll see it with the inner \____/ panel off.

I got some repair wires and a plug from VW to make up a loom so not chopping factory wires. Thus when changing camera I solder onto the added loom.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Cheers Guys,

I'm assuming you don't need to supply power from the HU if your tapping into the reverse light wires?

Depends on HU.

The Zenecs I had came with integrated CAN interface and seperate camera 12v and gnd cables on the rear to connect to.
Otherwise can't see how it automatically comes on with reverse if not directly into the HU.

Seeing as you need to run the VGA lead anyway you just need to run two skinny wires up beside it (the wires on the camera look like only a couple of strands thick). With the fat VGA cable I linked to earlier in the thread you shouldn't have any crossover with the signal and power cables being run together.

I see, but that would be on the assumption that the head units have a CAN interface?

The only thing I can assume as to why you'd tap into the reverse lights is to give power to the camera when the reverse light is on, therefore activating the camera, which in turn, turns the HU to the video in feed
