I'm sure my bonnet suddenly doesn't fit properly and so justifies me fitting a pair of these catches

[Well, it wouldn't be me doing the fitting!]

Top work that Neil........when are you coming over to do mine

I need a bonnet vent fitting too please

I had the same issue of lift with my bonnet, but found out that I could lower the bonnet catch lower section first and it lines it up great.....bit too late for you though :drinking:

looked at that but the other side is tight down, tried adjusting the rubber stops but it was still a bit high and when the wind got under it it just got worse.
Sorry John me and my new best mate Mr DREMEL are fully booked.  :happy2:

I seen your car on one of the trade stands I was tempted to pull the clips as i was fascinated by it. I would have been proper cacking myself with those measurements a wee bit out and its an expensive mistake :sad1:

great job  :happy2:, you must have an extremely large coin purse to attempt drilling through your bonnet, I wouldn't dare  :scared:

+1. I'd have to have a replacement bonnet on standby before I'd even think of doing this mod.

Just outta curiosity, does bonnet lift occur on oem hoods and how fast to you have to be travelling for it to occur?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

it has happened in the past, but in minute cases in terms of how many golfs on the road. i dont think you need to worry about it!
