Decat fitted.
« on: November 05, 2012, 02:37:54 pm »
I have just fitted a Decat to the standard system, and my EML light has just come on. I think my second Lambda sensor is knocking, if I just take it out and disconnect it, will it do anything different to what it is doing now?

You will need your 2nd lambda mapping out, to give you an idea of costs we charge £50 for this or free as part of a stg2 map.

That's what I ment mate.. Seen as it gets mapped out anyway, if I just disconnected it now before I get it mapped would it have any other effects to the car?

Great.. looks like i need to get a stage 2 map ASAP then.
Will my standard clutch be able to handle the extra power? I don't tend to drive that fast very often , just the occasional time when I get bored, so wouldn't be putting too much extra torque through it.

So if I get a custom code map with the second sensor mapped out, it will all be ok wont it?
I haven't noticed a big drop in mpg yet though..

I didn't mean the company custom code, what i ment was a stage 2 (rtec) map. Rtec are looking like the best bet to me, closest most reputable people I recon!! And ones of the cheapest stage 2 maps I have found too.

eBay special mate:

I don't think I have fitted it properly as I fitted it with only one side of the car in the air... :ashamed:

Is starting to sound nice now though :-)

Yes they sent me everything, new turbo gasket, and a big clamp as it is split in 2 pieces. The  it just slots in to the slieve for the standard system. Welds look good too, really pleased with it tbh, considering I paid £92 for it including next day special delivery.

Comparison pic for you:
