How to prevent frost forming

As title says is there anything like a rain-x type product that I can put on the windows to prevent frost from forming?  I've got a cover for the windscreen so it's mainly for the side and rear windows.

Both cars live in the garage, that said they both wear Gtechniq G1 http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/exterior-coatings/g1-clearvision-smart-glass/ when I have had to leave them overnight outside, it does appear that any frost doesn't form as hard and is much easier to shift

On the rare occasions that my car stays outside in the frost,  I spray de-icer on the screen the night before (carefully - I don't want any straying onto the paintwork, just in case).  It just slides off the next morning.

Now I don't know how good it is as I've never used it but I know that the company that make one of the de-icers make a product called pre-icer, I saw it in a Robert Dyas once!

As I say, never tried it but worth the suggestion!

I drove me car this morning at 5am.... frost all over the car, but just water droplets on the windscreen. Gtechniq G1  :happy2:

I just use a peice of cloth oover the windscreen. And use warm water in the Windows. For really cold tempsoput re usable glove warmers on the seats and this will stop the doors freezing up

Read Rich's review a while back and thought it looked good for clearing the windscreen of water but never realised it helped/stopped ice. Off to purchase some right now.....

My wife bought that the other day from Tesco or somewhere for her Kuga. Don't think it will go near the Golf though!  :smiley:

What I meant was that she can try it out first. That GTecnic stuff looks the mutts nuts so I think I'll go for that. Test it out in the Aberdeenshire winters!!  :driver:
