First car was an 8 month old 1987 red VW Citigolf 1.3 as per the pic below but with 2 lights instead of the 4:

followed by 1 1991 1.8 Citigolf Sport with aircon which worked a treat. Loved those cars, great handling, honest, quick and so easy to work on, unlike today's Golf's.

Pics I found on the net, don't know where the pics are of my cars, but same as above.

Mk3 Ford Escort 1.3GL W Reg.  Dark metallic green with tan interior.  £695 back in 1992.  I'm sure it was £600 a year insurance for 3rd party fire & theft.  I don't insurance for 17 year olds is any worse now than 20 years ago given inflation.
Black 2008 GTi, InPro smoked door mirror indicators, genuine Autohaus Wolfsburg plate holders, uk legal pressed metal plates, LED number plate lights, MTEC super white headlights & side lights, LED internal lights, Polo stubby aerial, Kenwood DDX4023BT head unit & Enfig surround.

My was a 1985 Ford Escort 1.3 in Red with a short plate  "B3 BFV"  that always got me pulled

XR3 rear spoiler and the clover leaf alloys.

No pics but it looked exactly like this....

My Dad tried his best to make me get a Renault 4. At the time I hated them, but I think they are awesome now.  :ashamed:
