midline to highline clocks
« on: December 04, 2012, 08:41:40 pm »
hi all,
have a small tech question...
have a midline dash in my 07 mk5 and have located a set of highline clocks bearing part number 1k0920873B with my standard ones being 1k0920863B..
what is involved for a straight swap???

thanks in advance

Is there some sort of VCDS blackmagic to do this then?

It's a straight swap but you need someone with a genuine VAG commander to reprogram it as it's an x73 type.
So kalu, eddie-nl or olsen-72, maybe others too.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

iirc VAG commander works with some 973 and not all.

my VAG commander works with the ones prior to the 973.

kalu or eddie can do it if vag commander wont do it.

Well I got my highline GTI clocks for £100. Wouldn't pay more than £140 for a set.

depends what one it is.

If its an 973 or 974 i would pay less as you would need to pay additional to get it coded by kalu or eddie.

If its a lower model and you have the program/cable and know what youre doing then you would look to pay more
