I had my old car done for 400. That was wings, bonnet and bumper. Just to get rid of the stone chips.  :happy2:

Shouldnt think your looking at that much mate, maybe sur 500 reigon?

Ive just had the mrs's ibiza done full respray at £600 - a brilliant mates rate price but it puts in perspective how much profit they bloody make cos it would of cost over double that!!

I would budget £500-£600 for a good estimate. Though respray is really last resort IMO.

You will never get back to factory finish if you know what your looking for.

on a proper respray job like the guy is looking for why would it not get back to factory finish esp with and chips etc gone, I would have thought this is what you are paying for ?

That's what worries me about getting a selected area resprayed.

I have been looking into this myself although I'm not as quite as anal as you but still want a top job. I'm in Horsham and have been asking around and i have received a couple of recommendations. Have set my budget (at the moment) at £500 so we shall see.

VW in Horsham were useless but the Crawley VW Main Dealer recommended a local Gatwick company who carry out some work for VW, BMW and Merc (among others) in the area.....

Also got a recommendation about a local company in Cowfold called Auto Colour Works...

And from other research, although no idea of quality.......

do you guys in our day to day driving bother treating stone chips etc as you go along, in the way of a touch up pen etc or do you just leave it ?

I had mine done recently and it cost me £400 for my Edition 30 and I had wing mirrors, wings, bonnet and bumper all done to get rid of the stonechips. I did get mates rates though but he isn't usually cheap because of the quality of his work and he's well known in the area. He took the bumper, splitter, fog lights out and 'flicked' up the pillars, I'm guessing that's some sort of blending in technique lol I'm not 100% sure but if I remember rightly he didn't touch he black part of my bumper, where the reg plate sits, because he said it had no chips n saved him charging me more for the paint etc, he just cleaned it up with everything else at the end and got a glass finish. Oh and that was using an oven too, I'm not sure how many bodyshops actually use or have the room for an oven but it's better if they do.

Oh and I'm from Wigan area if anyone up this way needs the guys number for bodywork jobs :)

Going back the the comment about 'not getting it back to factory' Its totally acheivable. I know i paid top dollar for VW to respray just my bonnet £300. But seriosuly couldnt fault them. Perfect job!  :happy2:

You should be able to get it close to original finish. Once its been sprayed leave it a few months and then get it flatted and polished.. it will remove the orange peal you tend to get on resprays.

Ive been quoted about 350 quid to do my front bumper, bonnet and blend the wings. thats up in manchester though.

Hi , Thanks everyone for the input we are going away in May so I will get it done then ,once the winter is out the way and a proper detail ,I washed her last weekend and found lots of tiny chips around the front ,I was thinking another coat of paint wouldn't do her any harm ,

Thanks to all

Stone chips are unavoidable, but if you think it's worth it... I certainly do... Go for it :)

Ive got a car park dent on my left rear quarter so went in for a quote, whilst there I got a quote for the whole from end including bonnet due to stone chips etc, and it he said £450 for it. good quality job too, he does most of the cars for Audi locally. I didnt think that was too bad.
