Recieved a replacement polar fis box
« on: December 11, 2012, 06:50:07 pm »
After the problems I had with my polar fis they have sent me a new box

It arrived today but I think that the circuit board is loose inside the unit

video

Would you accept this unit?

I don't think it would last long and would rattle whilst I'm driving

No mate I would not accept that as a replacement.

I've been following your progress with this on the polar forum, as I have bought one of these 2 weeks ago also, but yet to fit

My unit certainly doesn't rattle like that  :surprised:

Surely they would have double checked this before sending this out, so might suggest it's been damaged in transit?

They suggested that using cable ties in the car will make it secure.

It's not as if its a cheap £20 electronics box from china

I paid £220 for one

The first box immobilised my car at one point, would be a nightmare if this box broke whilst driving and having to unplug it at the side of the road in the dark

I had mine apart to see what it was and it is just the loose fit of the PCB inside the case. Mine was a second hand silver version though and the tamper seal had already been broken.

I have had this reply on auto polars forum

It's as if the circuit board is not secure Inside the polar unit

Why you say box is not secure inside the polarFIS unit ?
Please, let will post with sense, there is not exists any problem with this, board never will be damaged.

With best regards,

I would like to open the box and see what's wrong but they will blame me for the board being loose if I did.

If I do not get offered another replacement I will be asking for a refund or requesting a chargeback from my credit card if a refund is not offered.

I would of thought that they would of personally checked this box as the original one I received was faulty, the second box was well packaged inside a box, the first unit I received was just Inside a Jiffy bag and does not make any noises when shacking

They say that there is a small number of defective boxes of the new black polar units but the fact that I have now received 2 boxes that have a fault and another member on here is having problems too makes me think it is more than a small amount that is faulty

They are still saying that the box is not faulty and the loose circuit board is normal and locked the thread
