Misfire at high revs?
« on: December 19, 2012, 06:14:48 pm »
Now then lads whilst out this morning the car started to missfire if I was to give it the beans, didn't happen if I was just cruising about on slight throttle, engine warning light flashed a few times and went out but now it has stayed on. Fault codes are 0300 multiple misfire and code 0304 cylinder 4 misfire. Anyone else had this prob or codes? Didn't want to take it straight to garage without asking you lot? Thanks in advance

Have you been in contact with VW to see if you are eligible for the coil pack recall?

It could be a coil pack or spark plug that might be causing it

I think it is only on the older mk5 s, but you could try phoning your local dealer and ask them to check if you will be entitled to it

Because its showing a fault on cylinder 4 if I was to change no 1 plug with no 4 plug then re scan it and the fault was then moved to cylinder 1 then it would obviously a spark plug issue?

Changed spark plugs over but no joy so then swapped coils 1 and 4 around and it's was recording a misfire in cylinder 1 rather than 4 so coil it is. New coil tomorrow and should be sorted

Cheers
