I was a bit concerned about some aspects. IMO it should have been a 15.

I thought you were older than 15 Jaz?

I am. I just don't think it was as suitable for kids under 12 and I hate the new 12A rating for films. Either make it a 12/15 or PG.

Funny as I had pretty much the same conversation with my 12 year old this afternoon. Films like the last Batman and Mission Impossible films were both 12's and neither were as dark as this.

Saw this movie last week and god knows how they got a 12A for it.

Is it me getting older but do movies nowadays with swearing in and above moderate levels of violence seem to carry lower rating than previously.

They usually start out as 18 / 15 certificate then they keep trimming the footage until the licensing board are happy it is a 12 cert.  This way they make a lot more money.

They did the same for the Woman in Black, which is a 12 cert. - it's not the scariest of films, but tbf I think it would have most 12 year olds bricking themselves, lol.

I'd have never taken an 8 year old to it, far too adult themed to be honest.

Glad everyone is enjoying the movie though. I did too.

2013 is going to be a great year for films. Cant wait, as i am a massive cinema going movie lover!!!

Went and saw this last night with my brother and my mum (My father and sister in law wanted to see Life of Pi, so they were in the next screen watching that  :happy2:), at the end I thought... meh ok

Nothing spectacular and altho Tom brought the money and his company helped produce it he really was too small for the role (Hi leading lady towered over him AGAIN)  :signLOL:

You are very heightist.

My leading lady is taller than me too. But then again, Warwick Davis is nearly as tall as me.  :signLOL:

Yeah i know what you are saying!  :happy2:

In fact, i watched Fast Five a couple of weeks ago, and was quite impressed with The Rocks acting. Its a lot better now than the first film i saw him in. Also, he was quite funny in The Tooth Fairy.

Yeah he is getting better, and his roles have varied, would like to see him in something "Gritty" to see how he fares.

P.S. Tom Cruise would have made a good Bilbo Baggins they would have spent a lot less on CGI making the actor look smaller  :signLOL:

There are a few that would have pulled it off build wise. Chris Hemsworth springs to mind.

Having said that though I thought Tom did ok and if I hadn't read the books where his physique is one of his most talked about attributes then it wouldn't have bothered me at all.

Lets see what (if) the next one brings.
