New member mk5 tdi (UPDATE)
« on: December 27, 2012, 06:22:20 pm »
Hello there new member here from Manchester.

I know this is a gti site but seen some other cars here and it seems the forums is more active for mk5 golf's.

Just a quick couple of pics of my 08 match 1.9tdi

All the usual extras the match gets highline, mfsw, armrest ipod dock, auto wipers and lights etc.

Plus I have fitted some genuine monzas and had the powder coated gun metal grey.

Last week I also had fitted some eibach pro springs as well.

Just a quick hello and a couple of pics.

Thinking of remap next :)

Cheers

Could do a quick photoshop to give you an idea at some point on the tints. I'm sure someone (RedRobin) could beat me to this if he sees this :P

GTI kit would be nice. Just put a jetta front bumper on mine :)

That would be awesome cheers pal.

Never been able to use that.  lol

Anyone know the quality of the ones on eBay that are around £145. The direct fit copies?

There is a brand of non-OEM ones which are meant to fit pretty well..... I just cant remember which brand it is!

Read some good stuff about the jom ones.

There at the higher end at around £250.

Got some creaking since fitting the springs so gotta sort that arb bushes I think.

Just a update.

I have know fitted new genuine gti side skirts which I had smoothed and colour coded.

Fitted a gti front bumper and grill and had this painted plus a black front badge.

so other than the eibach pro's and powder coated monzas the only other thing I have done is a hid kit and a Awsome gti remap.

Pics are not great as of phone but don't have a camera lol.

First fitted the side skirts

Front bumper just needing to fit 2 outer bumper inserts.

Cheers :happy2:

Looking a lot better buddy with the GTI bits!
Although word to the wise, HIDs in the stock headlights are really blinding so I would recommend removing them and fitting some uprated bulbs instead.  :fighting2:

Just needs to go a bit lower now I think, and would be perfect.

Cheers for the comments.

Would like to go lower but just not pratical  enough for me I am afraid.

I have the HR7 kit from hids direct that was like £145 they have no glare and same beam patteren.

Next to my boss's  beemer with factory ones the cut of  etc is identical.

Trust me the more expensive hr7 kits that hid direct do are like normal.

cheers again :happy2:

What engine code is it? I had an AVQ PD105 Touran that I had mapped & I ended up with about 140bhp & loads of torque. Made it more economical too! Good luck with the car - welcome to the forum - from another non-gti non-golf owner! (I've now got a Jetta Pd140 sport)
