Very fast HPFP follower wear.
« on: January 01, 2013, 10:39:33 pm »

Middle follower... been in a car (audi a4 2.0T DTM) for 5k.  :scared:

What would cause that?

This is a pic of the cam itself.

Any ideas?

Rich

Is that cam smooth to the touch?
Without traction power is nothing!

U can tell wether its an apr or just internals by looking at the size of the piston inside the pump. Apr has a larger one and is machined out.

I'm afraid it's not an uncommon occurrence.

I had to replace a cambucket at 3000km's. There were some bad cam buckets rev F I think that was problematic. But other cars I have seen no wear at 15000km's with APR pump as well.

But I guess it most likely will end up being the Camshaft if I'm not mistaken.
