I quite like the headlights, this is only on the Xenon equipped - not sure what the halogen get, probably just as before a standard bulb.

Unlike on the mk6 I actually prefer the standard lights on the mk7!!!

Looks like they all have a solid front VW badge - wonder how hard blacking it out will be  :happy2:

Is that little knob at the bottom grille the radar thing?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

For me, it's what the GTI version will look like in the flesh.

I think I may like it more than I do the Mk6 GTI (when unmodified) but the Golf Mk7 body styling is generally making it look like a much bigger size car than all previous Golfs.

Seeing a GTI in the flesh could convince me over the mk6.  The LED rear lights on the mk6 does make the rear end look much better.

I think one issue I have come across is the mk6 interior not being that much difference from the mk5, very similar place whereas the new one has been re-styled more.  So if I went for the mk6 would it feel much different the mk5 I used to have. Plus you get the new technology in the Mk7.

Although being a mk6 model I would be looking at the R over the GTI

Yeah, I think that the R is by far the best Mk6.

The Mk5 interior styling looks far more basic (which I personally prefer) than the Mk6 < I'm talking GTI's here.

Saw the MK7 GTI at the Autosport motorshow on Saturday, tbh I prefer the look of the MK5/MK6 - think the MK7 looks too much like a big Polo now... all imho of course :)

spec'd one up at £28k, reckon there was around £1k available in that and its very tempting, just still thinking that a lot of money for a 'normal' car

£28k seems soooooooo much when you compare this to whats available on the used or nearly new market!

I'm not sold on the MK7 looks wise but I will make final judgement with the GTI and its pricing will be interesting as well.

Its absolutely insane money. With BMW keen to offer up to 10% in discount, you can drive a boggo standard M135i off the forecourt for £27k.

If only it looked better

I know what your saying though, taken a leaf out of big brothers book (Audi), tick a few options and it gets silly.

I like the Mk7 a lot more than I did the Mk6 when it first came out - maybe thats because it's like a sharpened up Mk6 and I'm already used to the styling , who knows? I'm hoping to get a run out in one soon , if I do I will take some pics and do a little write up of my thoughts.
