Superpro lower engine mount and tracking
« on: January 07, 2013, 11:20:21 am »
Hi

Pretty sure this is the one I need for my 08 Reg Edition 30

http://www.superpro.eu.com/catalogue/32/vw-golf-mkv-2005-_to-2008/#SPF3365-80K

But Alex at AKS said to visually check first, as there was a change in 2008 and to make sure I get the right one.

I am not going to get chance to do this until I get my new spring and SuperPro ALK fitted later this week.

My question is. If I go back after this is all done and tracked and have it fitted later, will It effect the tracking at all?

Pretty sure it wont but I am often wrong about a great many things :)

Thanks muchly

Mat

Do you shouldn't need the tracking redoing as you are only filling the voids in the standard bush. Its only the ALK and springs that will affect the geometry.

As Matto says,

It definately won't affect the tracking, I need one of these on my Eddy and its an 2008 model too, its been remapped for 10k now and it feels like there is some play in my engine mount over the past few weeks.

Let us know how you get on, I keep meaning to get under my car to have a look but I'm having some tyres fitted this week so I'll get some shots whilst its on the ramp.

Mat

I've just had a look at my rear mount and it appears to be the earlier version SPF2861-80/90K that I will need even though my car is a 2008/58 plate registered Sept 2008.

I'd check your's before ordering the mount.

No need to get the alignment done AFAIK but you need to have a look at which one you need. Mine is the earlier version and my car is also a Eddy on a 08 plate. IIRC the earlier version is for cars built up to mid 08 and the later version for mid 08 cars onwards.
