What power should I be running with my mods ....
« on: January 07, 2013, 09:19:47 pm »
Basically my car has a ko4 turbo, forge fmic, s3 injectors, air filter down in the bumper not sure of make, forge DV and a Sachs clutch . Apparently it was running 340 bhp but It developed a misfire so I took it to jabbasport and they told me a remap would sort it but it hasn't and they told me it came out at 310bhp, told me they will send the dyno printout in the post as they was out of ink but I still haven't received it after 4-5 weeks and a phone call.

(Missed out full milltek and hpfp)

Should I be at more power than that and where do I stand with getting some money back as they said I need a remap but it hasn't fixed it ? Any opinions/thoughts would be great :)

Does it have an upgraded HPFP?
What does the RR map look like, can you supply?
Have you put it on VCDS yet?

I think you need to do some research before buying modified cars. To make 340bhp it MUST have been remapped. So it sounds like you have paid for another remap  :surprised:

If a car develops a misfire it's probably down to either a spark plug, coil pack, injector, PCV or carbon buildup.

Ive never heard anyone suggest a remap as a cure for a misfire.

Shame on Jabbasport for suggesting a ludicrous idea  :fighting:

With your set up you should have 340bhp ish (depending on dyno). I'd go straight back there and get your money back.

It was a revo on there before done by amd Essex , I don't have a printout for anyone to look at as they still haven't supplied one , I'm really p****d off .

I changed the plugs and it was still there and while jabbasport had it they swapped the coils round and it was in cylinder 2 all the time apparently so not the coils. I needed the car at the time and they had it 2 days so I couldn't leave it there again. I think I will be taking a trip there Saturday.
Yes it has a uprated hpfp but I have tested the DV yet as I'm not sure how .

Is there something in the inlet manifold that can stick from carbon build up or is that somewhere ?
Thanks

So they took Revo off and put one of their own efforts on.  :stupid:

At least go back and get them to flash it back to stock so as you can get your Revo reapplied.

Get somewhere that knows what they are doing to look at it.

ask for a refund as it didn't cure your problem like they advised it would

If a car develops a misfire it's probably down to either a spark plug, coil pack, injector, PCV or carbon buildup.

^^^^^This^^^^^

If you have checked out the coilpacks and spark plugs then the next port of call are the injectors. Are you sure they are S3 injectors? I've seen a car with a K04 upgrade and when the injectors were taken out they were stock K03 ones. If they are S3 injectors then swap the one out of number two for a new one. If it cures it I'd suggest taking the head out and inspecting the piston. I've also seen the damage a faulty injector can do to a piston. Before this you could have a leak down test to see if you are losing compression too. This would show if the valves aren't seating correctly through carbon build up and it isn't a hard test to do.

It is all a bit of a bind, but will pay off in the end.
Golf R gone.

....There's been a lot of folks on car forums and over a long period of time too, who have reported bad experiences with Jabbasport. So, it's sensible to take notice.

Just hearing how they have dealt with your car is enough to put me off quite frankly.
