Hi guys
Is there any way I can fit white led sidelights to my mk5?
I had a set in my mk4 but I have heard that they don't work in the mk5
any help would be great

I just ordered a set of the PIAA sidelights bright white with built in resistors.  Will post pics when they arrive.

Not cheap though £80 from cargym.com

I have LED side lights on mine, cost £5 plus £1.50 postage....

infact these are the ones...

came really quick and work perfect. They do get hot so attach them to the outside of the light housing. A really easy mod.

OEM Vs PIAA led kit





PIAA were expensive at 80 quid but the candlelight yellow ones next to the xenon headlights
dd my head in.  They have built in resistors due to the low power comsumption, stopping the
car bringing up a dash light and the LED not working.  Cheaper alternatives have been tried and
worked up untill switching on the engine then they die....

Got them from cargym.com based in hong kong. Havent managed to find any UK distributors.  I paid
a bit extra for postage and recieved them in about a week.

Poor value mod but looks great in my opinion...

They look immense Mike, worth it imo if they tick all the boxes.

Day timne pic tommorow as i got t fit the passenger side still and fit my osram indicators and carbon door sills... :D

Haha, well there are two PIAA threads and I think its mine where someone buys the ultra leds kit, it works untill he turned the ignition / engine on, 5 seconds later they didnt work.... :(  Some people are experimentingwith resistors to stop it hapening...

Hmm, that's quite a fail. At least the guy spent less than a tenner.

So the PIAA are the only plug and go ones really? £88 though...  :surprised:

^^^ The resistor in line is very easy to do, if you have a search on hear you may find an old thread with some picks on mine with LED's and resistors.

I think mine cost me all of £12.50  :happy2:
