Once you're off the line, then I'm afraid transmission loss and inertia isn't 4WD's friend.

Both very impressive figures though. I wonder where the cross over would be with 2 similar power cars?

Oh, and no way am I playing in mine at the moment - it'll have to wait

Very interesting. I have an iPad 2 but how and where do I connect it to my car?

Also, it's not a 3G version - Does that matter?

You don't connect it to the car Robin it uses it's inbuilt accelerometers and I guess GPS to measure things.

Affirmative.

You need somewhere to put it flat so that it cannot move around... easy with an iphone... not so easy with an ipap

Thanks, guys  :happy2:

Doesn't an iPad have to be 3G version to connect to GPS? I can't find any info on the hyperinterwebbynet so far.

Downloaded! Will have a go with this later. :happy2:

From having a quick hunt around on the interweb (which came back to a thread on this forum from a few years ago) for the weight of a standard Eddy (which gives the same weight for 3 and 5dr from what I can see) and it seems to say the DSG Eddy is 1376Kg and the manual is 1357Kg. This is without any fluids or fuel so add 65Kg (apparently)  for those and my manual 3dr Eddy (when brimmed with go go juice) is 1422Kg and with me (12 stone or 76Kg), its 1498Kg. Does this seem right? No point trying this with the wrong numbers!

Well... the weight is only to calculate the BHP. I put in 1550 as the weight. Thats was a guess from hurdys 1610kg Golf R which is probably a bit heavier than an ed30.

No 3G and GPS are 2 completely separate things.

....Well, this possibly might not help but the last time my car was weighed with myself and about half a tank of V-Power it was 1492kg (DSG Mk5 GTI). UNIbraces have been added since that time but I have shaved off 12kg by changing from Monza 2's to OZ Alleggerita's.

EDIT: I forgot to say that my DSG Mk5 GTI is a 5-door. Which might make a weight difference.

....Thanks, Ian - That's very helpful  :drinking: - Help The Aged, eh?

All I need now is a way of securing the iPad in the car. Perhaps strapping it to my passenger seat.

Needs to be flat really. If you were to put it on the passenger seat right up to the back rest that would work. Just dont slam the anchors on afterwards.

So 1500Kg ish is about right, give or take a few left over mince pies!  :ashamed:
