PLX Kiwi with DashCommand
« on: January 16, 2013, 02:41:30 pm »
The ESP and Tyre Pressure lights are showing both at the same time on my 06GTi at the minute they go off once the car is switched off and on again and sometimes they don't come up for another day or two but then they come on again both at the same time and don't go off until i knock the car off again, also while these lights are on I'm unable to switch the ESP on, its just stuck off. This has been happening for a few week now but last night the brake light started flashing and a warning signal was bleeping away so i pulled over looked in the book and it says do not drive on, pull over immediately and get professional assistance. So i rang the AA and they came out checked the pads and brake fluid then sent me on my way. I rang VW today and they want £90 just for diagnostics and with being a student I'm skint and don't really want to pay that much. A friend of mine has PLX kiwi and the DashCommand app for the iPad so I'm just wondering if this will tell me whats wrong or will that not bring up the fault? Im in Cumbria and theres only 2 members with VAGCOM, one is in Australia at the minute and the other hasn't been active for months so just wanting to know if this PLX Kiwi and DashCommand would work?
Cheers

I have both VCDS and dashcommand, the fault codes give out by DC are generic OBD2 codes; P1250 (for example)

You can then go on line and decifre them, or just google the code

It will clear them no problem

VCDS would be better to use, faster to identify the faulting part/parts, but if its not available to you then DC will get you their, just alittle more long winded
Don't judge me by your ability !
