Ice inside the car - WTF??
« on: January 16, 2013, 07:54:04 pm »
Just got into my wife's 2008 Nissan Note this evening and discovered the windscreen had ice on the inside as well as the outside.  Never before have I experienced ice on the inside of a windscreen before, is this normal???

.
I reckon it'll be the condensation freezing which was already on the inside of the windscreen, but I'm not an expert.

Nothing to worry about but you don't want it to keep happening such that there's a permanent build up of moisture.

Yikes, nope I've never seen that either; conclusion must be either, very thin glass, an open window or some other ventilation into the cabin, condensation - perhaps air vents in the screen position and very cold wind...

I've been using one of these over the last few nights, works very well, and fits the Golf well, probably a good fit for the Note too... take the chill off.

You're probably right Robin, I'll have to keep an eye out to check for any moisture next time I leave the car.  Not sure what else it could be

If I used one of these I can guarantee it wouldn't be there in the morning  :signLOL:

Ive had it a few times in vans and some cars. Normally what happens is the car gets condensation on the inside of the screen during the day and then as the temp drops it freezes

I get this too! A quick spray of de-icer and a quick wipe with my hat and it's sorted. Make surel you have the recirc button pressed as well so non of the de - icer gets wasted.  :happy2:

....Why did I immediately think of a Boob Beanie hat when I read this?

I don't think I should ask what else you wipe up with your hat!

Thanks for that information, TC - I now have visions of you doing the housework in a leather mini skirt like Freddie Mercury in Queen's video "I Want To Break Free" - Still a great track btw.

My very first car in 1999 was a (1986) Nova 1.2. I had to gas myself every winter morning by de-icing the insides as well.

Must be a note thing!! I was shocked this morning when I got into my Note courtesy car to find more ice inside than out??? Thought I must have left the window open or something ???
