Well, in spite of liking the three amigos I thought this latest TG was nothing new and consequently it was very boring. The P45 feature was waaay too long too. I'll only bother to watch the future episodes if there is nothing else on TV.

It makes me laugh, people still watch Top Gear expecting to see 1hr of car reviews & Road tests

Top Gear is an entertainment programme these days, three guys having a laugh, messing about and attempting to disprove "Global Warming" theories.

I dont take it too seriously, just sit back and enjoy.

If you want wall to wall road tests, watch 5th gear  :stupid:

Surely people should know what to expect by now. . .

I enjoyed it but thought the feature on the pagani was also too long and boring.....Hammond sitting squeeling for 10 minutes isnt entertaining.

.........you would assume so but obviously not!

It's an entertainment programme based around cars. I can't believe anyone watches it for a review on a certain car as we did 15-20 years ago. We watch it to see a 800k hyper car going sideways around a track and for some stupid home made vehicle to be trundling around the roads of Surrey.

^^^^
As an entertainment programme it fails, IMO. The jokes are tired and we have all heard and seen them too many times before for them to be still entertaining.

I don't have any expectations of the programme other than to be entertained but in a refreshing way. So I found it disappointing.

EDIT: I did enjoy the supercar and rally Bentley parts though.

The part about the small car (P45) was far too long & the banter/jokes are very scripted - but i'll still watch every episode without fail   IMO the best parts of the show are when all 3 of the lads are on a road trip or doing a group test.

I went to school with the rally driver they had on in the Bentley last night :)

Better be an hour long, otherwise it's just a normal episode.

ONly 6 episodes this season too... is TG on the way out?

Yes May mentioned it when him Clarkson were on Graham Norton in Dec. It will be on in Feb :happy2:

Is it not just the 'source of the Nile' one in the performance estates that will be on during this series?

My thoughts on this are if you don't like it turn the damn thing off.  :fighting2:

It has run for a fair few series now in this format and it's perceived as working in their eyes so why would they change it.

I enjoyed it and that may be because I have low expectations perhaps others should re-asses theirs.

Hopefully they've saved some of the better stuff for later in the series.

If you want to watch real car tv then the interweb is where you need to look, not mainstream bbcsnooze.

Take a look at the motortrend stuff, just fantastic:

^^^^ No VW though  :sad1:

Ford Focus ST, Renault Megane RenaultSport Cup 265, and Vauxhall Astra VXR. Get rid of the new ST from that list, add the new Mk7 GTI or R and see what's cooking!
