Newbie needing advice R32 exhaust on a mk5 GTi
« on: January 18, 2013, 11:20:16 pm »
Hi guys,

Newbie to the forum and VW so need a bit of info please.

Im hoping to pick up a mk5 GTi over the weekend as a second car to keep the mileage down on my evo's. I love the R32's but cant stretch the pockets that far atm so was looking into fitting the back bumper and exhaust fro an R32  to the GTi and this is where I need your help.

After doing a search am I right in thinking that the R32 OE exhaust wont fit the GTi, if so where is the best place to get a replica exhaust from and what cost would I be looking at.
Also do I need to chage the GTi bumper for the R32 bumper or is there another way around this?

Cheers Paul. :happy2:

Personally I don't believe you can use an actual R32 exhaust but I may be wrong, almost all the big VAG exhaust makers do an R32 exhaust for the GTI brand new they can be up to £500 for a cat back, milltek and BCS do the top quality ones, but you can often pick them up second hand for less than half depending on condition and milage, if you only want the look then just the cat Back will do

For The bumper you will need to buy a genuine R32 bumper, it will fit straight on to the existing mounting points that the GTI bumper is on, don't go for a cheaper eBay option as they are poor quality and don't come with a heat shield to protect the bumper, you can pick these up for about £150-300 depending on condition of the paint, obviously getting the right colour can make It tricky but it's not too expensive to get one re sprayed the right colour especially if you do the prep work

Hope this helps!

There is a compleate turbo back BCS exhaust with R32 tailpipes in the for sale section for £600 (which is a bargain)

You will need the R32 rear bumper to be able to fit the tailpipes properly though
