Assymetric Tyres?
« on: January 24, 2013, 11:45:35 am »
Umm,

Just had my GY Eagle F1 Assy2 fitted and on the side walls I can;t see any note of which way to be fitted but the sweeping line on the shoulder point toward the front on the drivers side and to the back on the passenger side...

Is this right?

Cheers,

Dom

Should be marked "outside"

My wife has taken the car to work as I could of looked at mine for you... to be honest it doesn't sound right to me bud, Maybe worth taking it somewhere else for them to check.... Although it may be a tad cheeky but worth a go.

Mine doesn't read OUTSIDE either, wouldn't worry about it.

I would take the wheel off and check that it does not say outside on the inside of the wheel.

I have eagle f1s on my monzas and am on my second set of f1s on my CH's and they all say outside

Yes, sounds perfect to me, they'd have to make left and right tyres to get the "sweeping line" to face forwards on both sides wouldnt they?

The directional tyres would have an arrow to show the direction of travel and Assimetric tyres usually do have the note to either fit inside ot outside. Check the inside edge too as some manufacturers state that only.

Assymetric = they have an outside and an inside but they are not directional. If you google image search the tyre, you will see that the tread is different inside the shoulder tread - you'll easily be able to see if they are on the right way or not once you've looked at the images on the net.

Hope that helps..
J

Yeah so aslong as the sweeping pattern is on the shoulder both sides then they're on right... as someone said, they would have to make L & R tyres to get this the same...

Thanks Guys!

But that means taking the wheel off ...  :rolleye:

Sure they're fine, the outside part of the pattern is on the outside of all the wheels...
