Hi guys
Ive been to golfmk6 for this question I am about to ask but there seems to be so much conflicting information from people and douchebags alike that I thought i'd try the sensible brains trust who frequent this forum :)
I have a MK6 R and looking at putting on some new wheels. Now, bear with me. Specs I'm looking at are either
19 x 8.5 ET 30 all around
or
19 x 9 ET 37 all around
I used the wheel calculator on
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.aspand putting in the specs of my current wheels (OEM Talladegas 19x8 ET51) and then putting in the above 2 specs, I get these
the 19 x 8.5 ET30 option will give me 15mm MORE inner clearance from strut housing and will extend 27mm out.
the 19 x 9.0 ET37 option will give me 1mm MORE inner clearance from strut housing and will extend 27mm out
Firstly, I'm getting confused as to what the inner clearance is? Is that referring to the distance between the wheel and the shock struts?
Secondly, which option would you pick if you had to?
Thirdly, will a 225 tyre work with either of these? or will it have to be a 215?
Thanks in advance guys!
