Aren't Loba generally a reliable brand for their various products?

Personally I would want to learn exactly why the Loba HPFP is cheaper than the APR - What the design detail differences are etc.

The LOBA was in the same price bracket as the APR. LOBA have however invested very heavily in stock to allow them to produce them cheaper this time around.

Also, I don't want to get into a slanging match but an APR map is a lot more than the Shark Performance maps we sell, some of the price you pay for the APR pump is the name. They price everything high which is their choice, just an observation....

We have sold a couple of these and I see quite a few sold by other LOBA dealers who are a bit more established then we are. I know they have been selling well anyway 

We could be tempted to run a group buy if the interest is there. I will also ask LOBA for some data as to why they are as good as if not better than the APR.

You also pay for the R&D as well, in depth R&D costs lots more than developing a new map from scratch in a day and calling it complete. Believe me some companies do much more than others.

IMO I think the likes of REVO and APR justify their prices with that I mind, also considering the volume of maps in differing climates, altitudes and development of the higher stages of tune that they have running on any many cars or running the software on racing cars etc means there is also the factor of their maps being proven much more.

On topic though, I'd happily run either pump. Both run enough fuel pressure to support the extremes of the TFSi mapping.

Especially as the HPFP is so important as an engine component. We all want to avoid what happens when cam followers get destroyed or something catches fire.

I know exactly how much R&D they all do, including Shark. I spent a long time speaking to them about how they do things before deciding to go ahead and become a dealer. If I didn't have 100% complete faith in their maps and the way they develop them I would have gone elsewhere and we did have that option. Anyway, enough said on software, I'm not getting into map debates on here as we will never win  One thing we will never do is sit here and say that REVO/APR maps are crap because they aren't, I just think they are overpriced.

As for the pump, we have to appreciate that Simon and his team at LOBA don't want to give away the spec of the pumps. Like I have said they are running on a lot of cars now but I probably shouldn't say too much until I have put one on my GTI, which will be soon. Just to say that as with the above comments, if we didn't have 100% faith in them knowing what they are doing we wouldn't sell it.

So do I.  I was their first stage 2+ TFSI and their first 1.4TSI  

What i do think you get with the smaller companies is a much more personal and helpful aftersales experience which is good though

....In the context of smaller tuning companies I only partially agree. It appears to be the case with R-Tech for example but I would never use Shark simply because every time I have ever seen Ben he trashes Revo in an effort to get me to change. And anyway, Revo might be a large tuner but JKM as their official agents give customer service second to none and anyway I know that they will look after me at Revo HQ if I needed.

I always liked to choose the underdog and not follow the forum trend, but i wouldnt do it that way again, ill pay for the big names, its cheaper in the long run as ive found out lol.
