drivers door speakers working intermittantly
« on: January 28, 2013, 12:24:23 pm »
Ever since i've had the car, the drivers door speakers seem to have a life of their own. When they stop working, if i give the speaker a good thump, they work again for about 10mins, then they stop again.
I read somewhere it's a common fault. I can't beleive its a loose spade connector on the speaker itself, how do i fix it?

I would check the wireing (under its rubber protector) that goes into the door for breaks.
Without traction power is nothing!

It's a common fault on most cars, especially on the driver's door, which gets most use.

The repeated opening and closing folds and straightens the wires where they pass from car body through the gap and into the door.

Or it could be the spade connector.
