If you look on the bay just now he is doing the monster bbk for 1200 I think as an intro offer for the first 5 kits ?

I though Ap stopped selling that kit for £1500 squid a couple of years ago ?
Where about did you see it about for that money ?

I ran directioal rotors on the wrong side of my last mk5 gti with no problems 2 offside were supplied - and the new owner is still running them on track days with no problems. I think it was lucky GTI that bought my AP kit, all though I'm not sure if the fact they were directional in first place helps the cooling even on the one that's fitted on the wrong side.

Dawain bought my old kit?

Luckygti isnt Dawain.

I am seriously tempted by that offer they have for the first 5 kits.

So who can tell me its a bad idea and I should stick with the NQSBBK?

The new AKS kit with fully floating discs for 1495 is a better idea...

I'm still running the Ap's from Gobble, no issues with running two right hand directional discs  :drinking:

I did purchase a new set of discs from daveb a while ago, but I haven't felt any reason to change them over yet as the current ones perform extremely well.  I do think I would benefit from running some s3 rears due to the back end getting a little out of hand under heavy braking.

I find the standard brakes on my edition 30 to be really good actually. Even so, just out of curiousity are there any other options available such as porsche brake set up's or from a phaeton maybe? Has anybody done anything like this?

Official Kit from AP is CP5200-1056.

Uses CP3580-2898/2899 330x28mm discs.

Worthwhile remembering when you condense things down where the works done and that's the discs and pads. It's also where the greatest savings are to be had.

You not had a better quote than that beddie?

Best quote so far is off this brake chap I know, messes around with planes or drives a train in an effeminate manner depending who you speak to...

I've got these kits cheap right now, only problem Is I got 6 left hand Calipers from AP and the others are coming through one every 6 weeks.....AP can be bloody frustrating sometimes...

Ones gone to Romania, the other Benjamina spotted in the workshop and he robbed it and stuck it on the Shark Performance Mk6 GTI demo. Beddies got an option on the next complete pair if he wants it first dibs in essence.

Works out at around £1535 with APF404 pads....I'm not expecting to sell any until Alex shifts the 370mm brembo stuff he's selling at a slightly cheaper price as they're stupid cheap unless clearance is an issue as the 5200 is the Kate Moss of Calipers

Not fully floating though?

How much are replacement bits?

Alex was talking about floating brakes the other day. Mike - waht exactly are floating discs and what advantages do they have over a non-floater?

Do you actually really need floating discs though?? I'd guess not as we run 362mm 6 pots on several big power full on track cars using slick tyres without any issues. Also, I wouldn't worry about running our straight vane vented discs on a road and occasional  track day car, I don't market them for full on hard track use but we have customers who are actually doing just that and they've been fine.

Btw, Hi to all the guys I know on here  :happy2:
