Both are massively tunable. Have owned both a 330d and a 335d. Would have another 335d anyday, would embarrass a lot of expensive high performance cars.

Here's some inspiration from a couple I have tuned:

Pdt- great videos very very informative.

If both cars were mapped was the difference in the 335 massive over the 330

I had a 335 for a wedding for a few days and it was the fastest thing ave ever been in but looking for a bit of a balance with fuel too hence the 330 option.

If my mates 2009 325d cabrio Auto (paddles) is anything to go by, then the 330d and 335d will be mightily impressive.

I think 2008 onwards they came with angel eyes DRLs and paddles on the autos as standard.

So whats the real world MPG for mapped 330/335d's then ?

Quite like the idea of one , 40+ mpg would be good with 300bhp

^^ My mates 325d (being heavy with the hard top roof, not driving gingerly and runflats) always seems to average 44mpg for most stuff. That said, he never resets his trip so I'm sure its capable of 50mpg on a run if you were steady. In a saloon or coupe, with normal tyres, I reckon you could add 3/4mpg to that estimate at least with the Auto box, possibly more for the manual.

Around town he reckons he dips into high 30's.

Same engine as the 330d that Dave tuned in that video, just starts at 197hp. Even with GTI power, it absolutely pulls from a standing start and in gear with a nice smooth straight 6 sound. They are immense cars and I think next time a 330d would be top of my list when I've kept the A3 for a long time.

Bought a 59 plate 330D Touring 2 weeks ago, quick and economical, done a recent run of 1017 miles in 4 days and it averaged around 44mpg (without roofrack) and 41mpg with roofrack and snowboards and that was mostly high motorway speeds.

will likely get a remap next year to around 310-335bhp
