Evening all,
Wanted to share my experience for others looking for info, as I trawled the internet for hours before buying my Bluefin.
I own MY07 Golf, 1.4 tsi (twincharged) which on paper came out the factory being pulled by 140 horses.
About 2 months ago, I was offered a brand new Bluefin for £160, how could I resist?
I was originally banking on getting a Revo remap but with similar hp claims and the hefty bluefin discount, I researched Superchips and decided to go for it.
My car is not performace modded; 100% stock when it comes to induction, drivetrain & exhaust, not even an uprated panel filter. I am reliably informed that the car is mechanically identical to the 170hp model and was pretty confident it could handle the power. (especially if you are a sensible driver and do all the recommended practises with warming up oil/cooling down turbo etc)
The Map: The whole process took about 45 mins;
5 - 10: Download original map onto handset
10 - 30: Upload map to Superchips...Beep Beep, text message "Your map is ready"... download new map to handset.
30 - 45: Upload new map to car, simples
Here's the graph from the superchips site:

Very impressed with the outcome to say the least! Lower end on the s/charger doesn't show any increase on the curve but the throttle feels more responsive, and when the turbo takes over, it takes over smoothly and punches the power onwards and upwards.
Driving like a granny has even given me an average MPG rise from ~40mpg to ~44mpg.
I will keep thread updated with any developments.
Next stop.... Forge Twintercooler, CAI, R32 brakes
Hats off to Superchips on this one.
Matt
