TBH, I'm the first to admit I don't know much about car cleaning... however, I've always thought the Karcher snow foam attachment was fine, I use about an inch of product and dial it up to max; turns a black car white in a matter of seconds, therefore done it's job of getting product onto the car... not sure how it could be better... perhaps I'm missing out...  :popcornsoda:

Not sure about which lance you're using. Karcher do their own version which I've tried and produces a watery soapy solution. A proper snowfoam lance produces foam that's as thick as shaving doam.

As above, the snowfoam is a prewash to loosen dirt and grime. It's a bit like soaking last night's dishes before washing them up. The rinse process is where you will remove the dirt itself. I find I have to get quite close eg 6-12 inches. I still use a 2BM wash afterwards and then rinse down.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Karcher everything... and yes it is a watery soapy solution, quite thick, but certainly not like shaving foam.
Might try more than an inch of product, see if that works, if not may look into another attachment.

IMO they're all the same but sold by different detailing companies. I got mine from Elite Car Care but that image was from i4detailing. Cleanyourcar, polishedbliss, autobrite-direct - just look at a website and buy one. Most will do a deal with a free litre sample of snowfoam.

When you buy one, make sure it has the correct fitment (they often give you a choice) and then play around with the lance to determine the settings.

Like I said before, they all seem to look the same, but these are the cheapest, they also sell them on eBay, but are more expensive
