Hi gents I'm new to the site and to the golf scene I'm looking at a golf mk5 gti 5 door in black 2005 79k on the coco full history are these all turbos ? And what are the common problems any advice would be great thanks

How much is it?
What options does it have?  e.g. Xenons, 18 inch alloys, Sat Nav, Multi function steering wheel, Heated seats etc.

IF possible get the car scanned to see if there are any error codes, which will tell you what needs replacing if anything.

Look out for rusting / bubbling front arches.  Check for cam belt / water pump change.

The 2005 GTI was a 2.0 Turbo TFSI using a K03 turbo, maps to ~250bhp on stage 1, later on 2007+ iirc, they brought K04 Edition 30 maps to ~300bhp stage 1.
Common TFSI issues, PCV / DV valve replacement, not overly expensive (if you loose boost these are what to look at)... and Cam Followers should be checked every 20k or so, sooner on mapped cars.

thanks mate its got the cloth interior i like it more its got 18S not alot more i think but will look over it more tommorow

No worries, most things you can retro-fit.  The multi-function steering wheel is an expensive retro-fit though, as you need a new wheel for it.
Another expensive retrofit, is the Highline instrument screen (Highline being the best) located inbetween the revcounter and speedometer - most have midline (lowline being the basic one).

Overall they are a decent motor, and are especially peppy with an ECU tune.

I have 18s / Xenons / Cruise / 10 speaker audio - the only thing I miss from my previous motor is the multi-function wheel.

sounds nice the one thing i would like is to sat nav as ve bought the car for the wife to use most of the time just dont no much about the models of vws etc as am more of a ford man but prefer the golf to any other car at the moment

I bought mine 2.5 years ago. At the time I was just obsessed with just finding one in Steel Grey
I wish now I had looked harder for a better spec, the only option mine has is a CD changer LOL

Would have liked heated leather seats, cruise, sat nav

Mine had rust bubbles on wheel arches, a broken air con compressor and a broken alarm siren :-)

Air con and alarm arent things you'd normally test on a car
