A German Car or not

SO, posted a facebook status to my mates saying "german cars: who wants to got to prept and homegrown?". These are meets in case you don't know. Anyway, one guy posts saying he'll come with me.

He has a Corsa VXR. Now, a open and shut case maybe, but the conversation went like this.

"It's actually an Opel. It was built in Germany, it's the Nurburgring edition, it's German"

Did some research and it is actually German and was an Opel but rebadged on entering the UK market. I've told him to stick up a build thread on Ed 38 and see what happens!!!!

Is this the green one that was at south mimms? If so it's a lovely motor, I do have a soft spot for the Corsa VXR but its not something I would spend that sort of money on.

Back on topic, most vauxhalls are rebadged Opels apart from the Monaro which is a Holden. So any insignia, zafira is eligible. It is a tad controversial but if you was anywhere else in Europe it would be classed as German.

looooll, yes to both! He might be moving onto stage 4 methadone mid-summer. Depends on his addiction really. camfollower, you mentioned power to weight ratio.....at full boost, he's as fast as me! He's pouring stupid amounts into performance. It is going rapid by the end of the year!

Those Corsa's are light as you know, can you strip the cr@p outta your Golf for the drag?  Rear bench, spare wheel etc.

The Corsa nurburgring is a very nice vxr , better brakes and suspension , look awsome in grasshopper green. The opc Race camp developed them

Which seems better than a stock Mk5. As said he's on stage 3 running about 245, and I only just edged past him. My golfs 260-ish atm, but it definately dones't have a fast road set up, nor is it the lightest in the world....as i've got loads of rubbish inside. Read bench is there, massive heavy sub in the boot, spare wheel, few work things. There's a lot of stuff that would come out really. I'll give it a try for fast car!!
