R32 Bumper fitting??
« on: March 06, 2013, 06:18:07 pm »
Riddle me this?

I've just bought an R32 rear bumper (lower section) from another forum member, thanks Jono  :notworthy:, and I've read a thread on fitting this and it mentions that some supports/brackets are needed? Are these needed or not and are there any issues not having them?

Cheers peeps!  :happy2:

The brackets....

RH Support 1K6-807-740

Found a pic or the support (the black bit)...

I think mine had them on when I bought it and are on there now. I think it fills a gap between the inner arch and bumper but I can't 100% remember. I'll have a look when I pop out later

What exhaust set up are you going for?

Thanks bud.  :notworthy:

Will get them ordered next week, can't be anymore than a couple of quid.

I've not decided yet BUT I'm leaning towards the R32 look BCS Prestige Powervalve system with 200 cell cat and their slash cut tips. I want it quiet around town as my boy racer days are over (nearly  ). I'll leave the quad's to you and Robin.

Sounds good fella  :happy2:

I was only asking about the zorst as if you wasn't going for an R32 style exhuast you would need to cut bits off the bumper for a different trim/zorst set up to fit

they look like some sort of strengthening brackets at the weakest point?
good luck with the R32 rear Martin, if you [correction mrs MC71]get fed up with your ED30 rear filling up your shed, give me first shout on it   :popcornsoda:

Didn't have those brackets on mine and it seems to be fine :happy2:

Regarding the BCS exhaust, I have the Powervalve Sport version and it is not much louder than stock when cruising around...only when on boost. IMO the extra silencer in the Prestige system is not needed.

Interesting! Assumed the Sport would be too much for me.

PM'd you Kalpesh.

Just for your info, I fitted them to mine and they were £2.21 + VAT each with discount. So £5.30 but that was in 2011.   :happy2:
