How Stock is the REVO "Stock" setting?
« on: March 11, 2013, 11:03:44 pm »
Long story short....

Had to put some ASDA fuel in tonight, so I plugged in the SPS on position 1 "stock"

Car still seemed to perform well.

Just before I got home I used Dynolicious to log a 0-60 and it was 6.1 seconds and came out at 262bhp with the rough estimation.

My last 0-60 run was 5.39 seconds with B9 T4 F8 (I think)

So 6.1 seconds doesnt seem like total stock to me.....

Dont see the point tbh after paying all that money for a map. Even putting in crap fuel if i HAVE too i just drive off boost untill Vpower is about.

Only time it was back to standard settings when the battery had been disconnected and i took it for a drive and yes was slowwwww compare to 8/5/9

Has the sps been programmed to store the stock settings on setting 1 ? IIRC it should be 0/0/1(Boost) stock ??

Plug her in again + Laptop and open the SPS program up and see what it reads on dial 1.

its considered 'stock like' not stock per se
mine certainly pulled more boost than stock on that setting, ergo faster.
so yes,I concur with your experience  :happy2:

No but you should be able to read the setting even though you can't write to it.

FWIW I had the SPS on B1T1F9 and it still did about 260-270 on JKM rollers. When changed to B7T5F9, it went to what it should have been.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Obviously no one lets their wife/girlfriend drive their cars...  :P

I let my fiancee drive mine. I think she looks after it better than me! She seems to think I would actually kill her if she broke it.

I only ever turn it to "Stock" to "recalibrate my right foot" then when I am happy it is painfully slow (Not that it was much of a slouch) it goes back on!
 :driver:

I don't even both to turn it to "stock" for a service any more, because I asked about a couple of intermittent faults once at VW and they said; "It's probably because it has been remapped". So it would appear they can tell the difference between "VW Stock" & "Revo Stock".

I think when I had mine set to stock, it ran circa 250bhp.
fuel still requested 130bar from the hpfp, so stock isnt fully stock!
