Well I thought I might aswell make a build thread to keep track of my ongoing progress with my car, so here it is.

This is when I first got my baby:

Decided to vinyl wrap my badge, as I had some spare laying around :D

Got my self a second hand Milltek cat back. The tips needed a bit of attention: before:

After:

Got myself a snow foam lance to keep her nice and clean :D

Got an induction kit.. Only a cheap one for now:

Seen these in a shop and I just couldn't resist.. Staggered fitmet. They are reps tho..

Made some Lego brick dust caps myself haha :D

Oh forgot to mention. I got some AP coilovers and fitted them myself:

Then I got a remap from shark performance and then had her on the rolling road and got. 266bhp stage 1 :D

But unfortunately after about a month of the newly gained power :D the clutch started to slip in 3rd and 4th gear quite a lot. So I had to get a new clutch. I got this from Awesome GTI:

Had it fitted at a local garage for the "easy" option. After 40 miles this happened :(

After a while of arguing it was clear the garage was not going to do anything about this. And he kept on saying that he has done his Jon correctly. I phoned up awesome who I bought the clutch kit off and we came to an agreement that he would pick my car up and take it to Manchester to have a look at what went wrong. Then they sent me a photo of this.... My crank with all 6 flywheel bolts sheared off into it:

After awesome gti fitted it correctly this time i have not had a single problems since..
The flywheel does chatter a little bit but nothing excessive tbh. But the 4 paddle clutch is just a bit too harsh for everyday driving in my opinion. And that's all I do haha.. But I've got used to it now.

I got myself a all LED interior light kit.. Lots better than oem . Very bright. :D

The rear wiper blade snapped off so I decided to de-wiper it. Even though I didn't really want to, but it actually isn't that bad without a rear wiper. Not as bad as I thought.

Here's how she sits today:

And yesterday a really nice package turned up to my doorstep... Hmmmmmm can't wait haha:

No Hanging about...  :happy2:

I would not be a fan of Air ride... But good to see you do most the work your-self

What will be next to land on your doorstep  :popcornsoda:
If it's not broke, Mod it.....

Silver is the way !

Well every car I have had since I started driving has been static... Last 3 years. So I think it's about time for a change. I've got fed up of speed bumps and stuff. I would just like to drive to work without having to mess about slowing down and dodging speed bumps and pot holes etc. with air ill just be able to drive it at a more sensible ride hight and lift it up for speed humps.. also still will be able to slam it at shows etc.. :D

Thanks for your reply.. :) yeah i do like to do as many things as possie by myself. Just didnt fancy crawling under the car on axel stands messing with the clutch.. But I might have been better off if i did though. It cost me twice to get it installed :(
Nearly £1000 on clutch.. But at least it is okay now.. After not having her for just over a week..

Stay tuned for air install anyway. I started some today ill post up some pics when I get chance :D

Ooooohh and next big thing to arrive on my doorstep hopefully will be some new wheels. I've fell in love with (3SDM 0.06) But that might be some time yet..

Yes I think I'm going to do the notch. But I'm fitting it without the notch for now.. Because I don't have a decent welder at the moment.

I went with the clutch kit that awesome gti sell on their website.

Thanks for your positive comments. I will Deffo keep you updated on air. I have some progress to post up soon when I get a chance later today.

Sooo here is a bit more progress from last couple of mornings:

Autopilot V2 management :D

Lets get cracking :D - layout idea..

I started by building a basic frame to raise the floor about 4 inches

Then I cut a bit of plywood out the same shape of the wheel well and cut a hole in the middle so I can screw it down with the spare wheel holder. Avoiding drilling holes all over my car :D

More to come

Where did you order V2 from & how much did it set you back?  :ashamed: I think I could install it all myself, its just the electrics & water traps. I am thinking about V2. Wouldnt do the notch even if I had a welder

I got it from car audio security. It was £2149 and he gave me a free upgrade to 3/8th lines and manifold.

From looking at this kit the wiring Looks easy tbh. Well you'll see shortly haha :D
My deadline for this install is end of month. I'm hoping to have it done for this weekend tho.. If all goes well.

I've bolted the tank to the plywood and all seems good. Nice and secure.

Just got some more bolts today to finish it off:

Started cuting out a cardboard template for false floor:

Cut out the shape of the boot floor. Took a while but got there in the end haha XD

Started making a card template for my tank to poke through:

Not bad & at least they gave you the upgrade to 3/8th lines. I'm guessing Parm @ Car audio was your contact?  :happy2:

Do you mean you won't do it yourself? Or never get it done at all?
I am still slightly unsure if I want to do it or not tbh.
