RNS 510 F/W 3810 - A change I didn't like
« on: March 15, 2013, 12:33:31 pm »
For those who like to be informed, one of the differences moving from F/W 2760 to F/W 3810 is the fact on F/W 2760 you could enter postcodes on the go, while the car was moving which was great for the job I'm in. But on the F/W 3810 you can't enter the postcode on the move anymore (It's a safety feature)

So basically F/W 2760 you can enter postcodes on the move

F/W 3810 you Can't enter postcodes on the move

I can't for love nor money seem to get a F/W 4120 to load on my unit.

I can go 2760, 3810 and even (5218 but I get no sound afterwards)

Where did you get your F/W4120 from, could you PM me info maybe ??

Sure it works on 4020 modified, that runs great on my A.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

So wonder instead is it the latest maps that would stop it? But I would of thought it's the firmware..........

A nice man sent me a disk. I will confirm which software version I'm running.

Ive supplied many people 3800 / 3810 and they can all navigate while car is moving.

Its when you go onto 4*** then they introduced  new feature called enhanced destination entry.  Which means you can't navigate whilst the car is moving.

I am pretty sure there is an option in the settings that allow you to enter while you are moving or only while stationary. Check that setting is off to allow you to enter destination when on the move. I don't think it's got anything to do with the firmware.
