Paint Colour code
« on: July 22, 2009, 10:59:49 pm »
So i had a guy paint my splitter that i bought from shaun a while back.

(does anyone know what splitter that was? As i need a nother potentially :S)

So anyway this guy painted it for me and well i think its now orange. So does anyone know the paint code for the red stripe around my grill?

Failing this.. anyone know of the best way/methode or paint to use to get this looking the way it should be in the same or very simillar red?

I would really appreciate help with this.. as i have the car going up on a car show stand and a chance of a magazine feature coming! So want to get this looking spot on!

Cheers

Andy

Thanks guys!

Does anyone have any tips for painting this.. as im now going to do it myself! What a mupet the guy now seems! Surely he should ave got the rite stuff from the dealer!

So i was thinking sand down the splitter and the prime it.. let it dry.. one paint coat.. let it dry.. another paint coat.. Let it dry..

And finally clear lacquer it...

Sound about right?

have you painted something before?

Ive painted quite a lot in my time, and achieved very good results, but i would be wary of painting a splitter myself. i honest wouldnt, but i guess this place would be boring if we're all the same.

What i would do is find another decent bodyshop to do the work

Never painted anything in my life.. not even a wall.!

HA! but its done.. i did it today and had it sit it the sun for a few hours.

PS..DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO REMOVE THE STICKY RESIDUE THAT THE MASKING TAPE LEFT.. IT WASNT SUPPOSED TO.. BUT IT DID..!  :congrats: SO WANT TO GET RID OF IT.. BUT DONT WANT TO TAKE PRESSURE WASHER TO NEW PAINT.. :scared:

So i have a before and after shot.. see if you can spot the difference..

So what you think?

So what you think?

No offence intended but it's kinda old. Nousey's been rolling with that look for years now.

What happened to your fogs? Sell them to Mr Mcavity?
