Well not too much to be honest.. Few little bits though..

Car is running great still.. We have a little issue with the breather system but the car will be running the Forge catch can system very soon (just been waiting for parts at the powdercoaters) and then all should be fine..

Still fast as hell, and should be going to Revo later this week to have the map fully tidied up and specifically tuned for the tubular manifold / 3076 turbo and lower compression engine build.. Im expecting around 50hp throughout the rev range once that is done, and running around 1.8 bar boost we should be very close to 500hp

Couple of other random bits..

I spent some time setting up the WOT box for the car, just to have the launch RPM and cut time on the gearshift just right..

Been out playing tonight and tested a few different launch RPM's..

We started at the standard 4000 rpm setting and it just bogged.. I brought it up 200 rpm at a time until we were at 5000 rpm and now it launches lovely.. I think its probably built a fair bit more boost too.. I also feel like I have the launch technique pretty much sorted too which is good!

On Vag Com its saying that we are building 6psi of boost when on the 2-step.. Not a huge amount but certainly helps!

So naturally we decided to do some practice 0-60 runs!

1st - 4.03
2nd - 3.87
3rd - 4.72 (missed 2nd)
4th - 3.77

Only timed from a stop watch but gives a reasonable idea.. We were stopping the time just after 60mph indicated to factor in a little for the speedo being out.. But oh my god does it launch now!

Also had a play with the flat shifting, just getting the shift time perfect and the difference it makes is quite incredible, now the car is constantly in boost, and you fire through the gears like nothing! Its pretty amazing.. I seriously can't wait for the first 1/4 mile day now!!! Also at night you occasionally have the whole back of the car lit up on shifts accompanied with a HUGE bang.. Pretty nasty!

All of those times were without a flat shift to 2nd gear as ill only do that on 1/4 mile runs.. That will make a big difference on its own! I think a low 3 second 0-60 is possible for sure when everything is set perfectly..

The next thing is that there has been lots of talk recently about RS4 injectors and cold starts, struggling in the mornings etc.. I think that hopefully this video can help to prove that with correct mapping there is no problems..

This was 1 degrees C outside this morning and the car had not been started for 3 days.. So yeah, its pretty cold!

Ill let you make your own minds up but that seems perfects acceptable to me? Once its warmed up it will fire on the 2nd crank..

Love the sound of the turbo when the car comes off cold start ha.. woooooooooooooooooooo

Oh and just for fun

The car is going for a two day detailing session with Pure Detail soon, so will come back looking perfect again, the paint is in good condition but needs a good seeing to after being neglected for the last year!

I have also ordered a set of the Volk VR.G2 wheels in flat black

Specs are 18 x 8.5 / ET42 / 5 x 112 / in the high 7kg range for that fitment..

These are set for delivery early Jan, cant wait!!

Think ill have the TD's powder coated between times though to a textured black, pretty sick of the red now, especially as there are more and more cars popping up round here with red wheels recently.. The worst offender being a BLUE Renault Megane R26 complete with full race decals.. Hmm.. Nice!

Nice touch the 1.9 TDI bit perhaps you should get some proper badges.

Looking forward to seeing this at the Pod. Do you have a date set?

No more RWYB dates until next year now Jonny :sad1:

I think York has also closed shop till next year.

Wouldn't mind an early trip to York or the Pod next year either :happy2:
