Clutch and DMF

Basically yesterday was having a little play in the jetta and soon realised that the clutch wasnt releasing and was slipping!

So... How much am i looking at for a new oem clutch and dmf change? And roughly how long does it take?

I realise these things go by the garage but would just like a rough idea!

Im only going stage one on my jetta so 305lbs/ft which im guessing the standard set up will cope with?

Its 2 ltr tdi bkd engine

I had a full Sachs OEM clutch/DMF/bearing & bolts delivered from David Hawthorne at SERE motors (Seat dealer) for my BKD, was about £475 last year.
Worth ringing your dealer or TPS first.

Looking at 4-5 hours labour if not fitting yourself.

Buy it somewhere reputable as you may get a remanufactured kit or poor quality DMF if you buy from some ebay sellers. I know GSF carparts, EuroCarParts etc do good quality kits.

I'd stick with DMF on a 6speed also, not a SMF conversion.

I was going to phone TPS and find out i know a guy who works there.

But as i need my car for travelling wanted to know if it was going to take a few days!

Now i need to find a reputable to do the work!

If you're paying full whack labour then about that, this is why you want to make sure you get a really good kit so you're not paying labour again soon to replace it.

Yeh i will be paying labour, im ok doing oil changes and brakes...thats about it! bit too big a job for me on my driveway!

Just been scouting about on eurocarparts and they do a sachs clutch kit and dmf for £523 and with a 25% discount code i have its £392 delivered.

Does this seem good? and will this be a good kit? not remanufactured?

Not sure the 25% codes work for clutches, usually 15% but great if they do!
Yes Sachs is what a dealer provides, on top of that you want a release bearing and new flywheel bolts if not included.

Remember Sachs clutch needs a Sachs DMF, LUK clutch needs LUK DMF and so on.

yeh i figured theyd need to be matched! will ask about the release bearing and it says the flywheel comes with 6 bolts?

Ive got a few discount codes so will try them all haha!

Thats what it says on the website...does this mean the release bearing comes with it lol? as i cant find one separately on the website!

The bearing sits inside a cylinder, is that causing confusion at ECP?
