Sleep with me alongside wallet and phone. If I hear anyone breaking in, their head will swiftly come into contact with 2lb 12 oz of the finest Millichamp & Hall West Country cricket bat willow, also in my bedroom!!

I think these kind of comments illustrate how we would all feel. But you must remember that you can only use "reasonable force" ie if you take out a burglar with a bat, golf club etc he will sue you for assault and battery and/or GBH depending on what you do to him. If however, he is trying to stab you/smash your head in it is reasonable for you to use the required force to defend yourself.

In terms ot eh MK5 Golf as it is now getting older I would not have thought organised thieves would be too interested in them. If however, you have an RS3, M135i, or an R for example then take every precaution you can!

Nothing wrong with clubbing them with a piece of willow and placing a knife in their hands afterwards!!!  :fighting:

if some feckless, jobless, monosyllabic, crack smoking retarded wa*ker  breaks into our house (at that VERY point he steps over the threshold) he's lost all rights to be treated with servility and restraint so while his twitching, bleeding and broken body is laying at the bottom of the stairs I'll place my baseball bat by him and say he attacked me, self defence your honour.

Who you gonna believe, me (a respected member of the community who's never even received a parking ticket, worked every adult day of my life and paid all my taxes and sits on the PTA) or the sh*thead who broke into my house?

(And that's just what my wife would do!)

I'm obviously not a criminal mastermind, but how the hell do you sell a stolen car with false plates etc.....???
How do they get a logbook that states the cars number plate is correct etc....???
Surely only a muppet would part with money for a stolen car??
I can understand buying a £300 banger without doing the necessary checks, but not parting with the best part of £5K or above without checking it out thoroughly!!!

Fake V5.
They steal plates off a car that's the same colour so that makes it easier then just fake a V5 with the VIN from one and the reg from another.

You're right you don't need to be a criminal mastermind just have a V5.

It's all very well unless you become the victim and you're the one taken out in a bag. You're only a hero for protecting other people, not possessions.

My family would never forgive me if I was killed because I decided to protect our property. And understandably in my opinion.

^^^^ I completely agree with every word.

In reality i don't know what I'd actually do if confronted by an intruder but I KNOW I'd do anything to protect my wife, kids and granddaughter (if they all happened to be staying in our house at the time) regardless of my own safety.

If you were to shout at them and they scarper then all's good (relatively speaking) but if they come at you.....

Clifford Advantguarde...

If the proximity sensors and flashing lights don't put them off first then simply let them take your keys if threatened...

They'll manage to drive 100 yards away from you before the engine cuts out, locking the thieving scum inside. Alarm and horn blaring, lights flashing etc. main thing is YOUR safe!

Correct! until they come back a few weeks later not looking for your car but looking for revenge.

Thieves (opportunist ones) are like bullies at school, if you hand over your keys (lunch money) your inviting them back again, if you stand your ground or give em a smack they will target another car as they aint likely to get hurt doing it, dont risk your life, but if he is on his own or is clearly a little scrote or you have some kind of training or a weapon, let em taste some pain!, just like bullies, they will go target someone who aint gonna fight back or make life hard for them  :happy2:

This is likely to be true.
But it could work the other way round and they could come back again, with more people with a different intention.

Or it could turn out to be a little scrote hiding a knife in his sleeve. Seriously, what the f*ck is the point?
