Would I get rubbing with these wheels
« on: April 10, 2013, 03:16:26 am »
Would I get rubbing with 8.5 inch wide rims offset 50 and 235 40 18? Also if the wheel is deep dish would that fit with the s3 brake setup? And finally has anyone fitted 255's on the rear yet?

Theres someone selling some Merc wheels in the for sale thread which have a similar spec. Maybe send him a pm regarding the tyres.

Difficult to say about the brakes though unless you know how much caliper clearance you need and how much the wheels have.

235 on a 8.5 way to wide!  you need a 215 40 18 to give a bit of stretch or a 225 40 18 if stretch is not your thing.
I run 215 40 18 on coilovers wound down with no rubbing issues at all my offset is et42

It will be tight.
If you have any problems it would be with the wheel/tyre on the strut, on the arch. I'd put a 5mm spacer on, and should be alright.
