Can someone tell me, will I get more miles per gallon in value buying 95ron to any other higher Ron fuel?
Cars stage 2 mapped on 99 but I started running on 95 to get more fuel for the money as dont use the power much.

I get better mpg running on Super, but my car is standard.
You may get more miles, but it'll cost you more in the long run surely? When I tested it, I got the exact same amount of miles out of the car, driving it the same way, it was just costing me a lot more to fill it up!

^^^^ a full tank of V Power will only cost you less than £4 extra over the standard unleaded, no biggy.

Unfortunately the Shells near me are a bit of a drive and the price is always alot more than Tesco's Momentum, which is on the way to work, so I doubt I'll be using the nitro stuff anytime soon. Can't see there being any major differences tbh

Any difference "noticed" by using V Power Nitro over regular V Power is purely placebo affect and nothing else

Even on 99 ron vs 101 ron which this nitro stuff apparently is?

My local shell has it 3p cheaper than v power atm, so that's being bought!

Nitro+ is 99Ron

They are supposed to be offering Nitro+ Racing but not seen it anywhere, maybe it wasn't meant for UK market

I defo get better Mpg using super. No it's not quite enough to completely make up for the price difference, but that's not why I buy it. I don't mind paying a fraction more for a better quality fuel that my car is designed to run on.

Filled up twice with this Nitro stuff now, no difference from vPower.  Still waiting on that 102+ Octane Racing Pump to emerge

That's because this is just a rebranding exercise by Shell. Or at the most there is only a slight engine cleaning benefit from the new stuff. There won't be any performance increase.

Still need to fill up some to get my 100 bonus points though

I put around £500+ a month in my car and with the Shell points I will get a £10 voucher every 4 months or whatever it is.. Biggest joke of a rewards scheme out there IMO.. How your average Joe who fills his car up every weekend gets anything out of it is beyond me..

At least with Tesco you get a decent amount back, plus they are worth up to 3 x their face value when used right.

I do both... shell card and tescos. Like you say... tesco seems to win on that front. Especially if you shop there and get 5PPL vouchers.

I do the same. I was just thinking the other day that it is a pretty poor rewards system. I will be starting a new job in a few weeks with a 20mile per day commute opposed to 80. So that will be £10 per year reward if i'm lucky.

Also Shell vouchers expire in a couple of months and Tesco vouchers last years! If you lose them you can re-print them from the clubcard website.  :happy2:

Just filled a tank with this. Initial impressions: could hear the air intake a little more prominently but otherwise no change in performance.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Are you guys sure that you have been putting Nitro+ in???

I went to Shell in Nuneaton on Tuesday (23rd). They said they had none as they had just had their V-Power tank cleaned out that morning. So anyone who bought V-Power from there up to then was getting the old stuff.

I tried to fill up at Coleshill and the garage was closed off when I got there with 0 miles left on the range!  :jumping:

I had to drive 10 miles to an ESSO garge to put their Super Unleaded in.
